A Different Relationship with the Outdoors.

Kestrel began with a simple observation: outdoor spaces deserve the same consideration as the rooms within our homes. Yet outdoor lighting often treats illumination as a technical necessity rather than an opportunity to shape an experience.

We take a different approach.

Our lights bring together fabric, structure, and illumination to create a quiet, sculptural presence in the landscape. They are designed not simply to light an outdoor space, but to give it atmosphere, intimacy, and a sense of place.

The inspiration comes in part from the expansive skies of the American Midwest, where light, weather, and the horizon transform the familiar into something extraordinary. We seek to bring a little of that experience closer—not to imitate nature, but to create a place from which to appreciate it.

Kestrel will remain deliberately small and agile, exploring ideas through a series of evolving collections.

Air explores lightness, flight, and the fleeting colors of sunset.

Earth will explore weight, mineral forms, and the changing character of oxidized materials.

Water will explore the interplay of light, reflection, and the movement of water.

Each collection begins with a different aspect of the natural world. Together, they reflect a continuing interest in the relationship between light, material, and the spaces we inhabit.

Kestrel is an ongoing exploration, guided by curiosity and the belief that the outdoors offers more than a view. It offers an experience worth shaping.
